Wow, it was quite a weekend! It started out with a bleary-eyed squint at the thermometer to discover that it was only 6 degrees at 7 am. Better get that wood stove going so that our customers will have a place to warm up… but first, I took a few photos before the trees started disappearing.
The day warmed up quite quickly and the day got moving as folks started arriving to find their own perfect Christmas tree. It was such a pleasure to meet all of our customers — ones that have come for years bringing several generations as well as the new ones cutting their own tree for the very first time. It was a great weekend and we certainly couldn’t have done it without the help of our family. With my mom, Marlene, dishing out cider & hot chocolate, she made sure everyone was happy. Rick, Bill and Lou got more than they bargained for pulling some of those huge 14′ trees through the netter — it was crazy! McKenzie & Willow had lots of fun on cart duty and I was amazed as just how hard they worked. Atlanta, our farm hostess also did a lot of behind the scenes work to make sure everything went smoothly from making sure we had cookies & cider to cleaning the place up. Also, a big thanks go out to Rich and Karlene for showing us the ropes and holding our hands through the whole season, especially this first weekend — and feeding us on top of that.
