Frosty windows, cool days, crunching leaves, early sunsets and the aroma of Thanksgiving dinner… that must mean it’s time for Christmas trees — my favorite time of year.
We will be opening up our farm for cut-your-own Christmas trees during the two weekends following Thanksgiving: Saturday & Sunday, November 26th & 27th and December 3rd & 4th, from 9AM to 4PM. We may optionally be open on Saturday, December 11th as a snow day if we have bad weather on the earlier weekends, so call us or check in on our website.
There will be cider & cocoa, plus s’mores around the campfire. (Bring your own hot dogs!)
Opening up the farm for families to enjoy our place and pick out a tree is always a joy. I spend so much time here, and love the land so much, it’s nice to share it. But, this time of year also marks the close of the season; my work on the farm winds down as winter sets in. Sure, it’s a brief respite since sugaring season picks up in two months, but it’s a break nonetheless. For me, these weekends are about taking a breath, but also about a catching up that nicely weaves into the holidays. It’s a time to sit by the fire, see old friends and share a drink(s). So, even if you don’t need a fresh local tree because you have a sentimental attachment to the fake one you grew up around, that’s alright, c’mon by anyway and have a cider so we can catch up.
