This week, I got to show off the wood splitter to my stepdad, Bill, as we worked on getting enough firewood for boiling maple sap in the spring. It’s a super cool, hydraulic splitter that works off the tractor. The best part is that it splits both ways, speeding up the whole operation. I knew this would be one of Bill’s new favorite things and I am RIGHT! There’s still a bit more to split, but we’ll end up with about two cords from two white pine blow downs. I’m also working on harvesting another 2-3 cords for winter heating at home.
